for a long time my home point was near the parrot on help island. at this time i had no home to call my own (and still have never actually owned land). i just found a nice plot of empty land to rez my new things and play and change before tp'ing off to wherever.
now i do rent a lovely 2048, living in a house built by Ms Momiji

Bea sets home to Venus Beach.
Ned had home set to Lake Gnoma for awhile. It's a pretty sim owned by someone who lets group members set home there.
